An Amazon delivery drone was seen covered in smoke and lying on the ground after crashing into a residential building in Richardson, Texas (USA).

According to The New York Post, the incident occurred just two weeks after the Amazon Prime Air program was suspended following reports of other collisions.

The latest accident was captured on video by Cesarina Johnson, who spotted an Amazon MK30 drone operating in front of her apartment on February 4, according to USA Today.

The drone apparently struck the building before falling to the ground near the main entrance. “That doesn’t sound good,” Johnson said while filming smoke coming from the drone’s propellers.

Johnson told Fox 4 News that she could smell “burning” coming from the drone. Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and examined the device.

They assisted Amazon workers in collecting the drone’s parts and loading them into a truck. “We apologize for any inconvenience and are actively investigating the cause of this incident,” an Amazon spokesperson told The Post.
